The greatest challenge in preventing and responding to the use of chemical agents, toxic industrial chemicals, and radiation dispersion devices is one of detection. The RAID-XP squarely addresses this problem. It is designed to provide a portable, cost-efficient means of detecting and identifying chemical warfare agents (“CWA”) and toxic industrial chemicals (“TIC”), even at low concentrations with the added gamma radiation detection. The RAID-XP, therefore, offers an effective tool for both state and federal agencies (such as the Coast Guard, Border Control and Port Authorities) to prevent the use of chemical agents as well for first responders to minimize the impact of any chemical agent attack and / or high levels of gamma radiation.
The RAID-XP is combination of two CBRN instruments previously developed and manufactured by Bruker — the SVG2 radiation survey instrument for gamma detection and RAID-M handheld chemi¬cal detector.
The RAID-XP borrowed the SVG2 radiation detection capability with the newly develo-ped, hardened micro-processor controlled radiation detector based on state-of-the¬art semiconductor technology.
